James (or Jamie) Wagner has been an audio engineer, producer and studio owner in Chicago since the early 1990’s. James Wagner’s first audio studio (Argyle Sound) was located in the Lincoln Square Neighbourhood from 1994 – 2003. This studio was an ADAT based studio with analog outboard gear and a Sprit by Soundcraft 32 x 8 board. James Wagner moved into Strobe Recording (2631 W. Division St.) in April of 2004. Strobe Recording is a full production audio and video production studio offering 24 track (2 inch) and 2 track (1/2 inch) analog as well as Pro Tools HD system. James has engineered and produced a wide assortment of Chicago’s music and performance scenes ranging from free open jazz to full rock/pop projects. In 2008 James began producing the Strobe Sessions (www.strobesessions.com), which is a monthly studio showcase featuring some of Chicago's best up and coming artists! James graduated from Northwestern, University in 1994 with a major in Economics and minor in Computer Studies.
