Nick Broste has been an active figure in the chicago music scene for over 14 years as both an engineer , arranger, studio designer and performer. Working in the studio he has engineered recordings for bands ranging from Cursive, Bird Names, Herculaneum, Tim Kasher, Nathan Xander, Tyler Jon Tyler, Vox Arcana, Mike Reed's People, Places and Things, and Ga'an. Nick has recorded with, arranged or performed with artists as diverse as Wilco, TV on the Radio, Cursive, Jarvis Cocker, Beirut, Man Man, Spoon, Poi Dog Pondering and countless others, including his main projects Mucca Pazza, Magical Beautiful, Herculaneum and the Nick Broste trio. His focus in the studio is based on a philosophy of facilitating the recording process in such a way that the musicians can focus on the production of their art rather than be concerned with technical and other non-musical issues.
